Kurt Atkin is a Physician Assistant with 30 years of healthcare experience. After serving 4 years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, Kurt graduated from OHSU and worked as an RN for 8 years in the Portland area. During that time he was an ICU Nurse, served on an Ethics Panel, was a Code Team leader, and a CPR instructor.
In 1993 Kurt took a position as a Public Health Nurse in Wasco Oregon, evaluating and augmenting the healthcare delivery systems of 4 counties in rural, north-central Oregon. He graduated from the OHSU School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program in 1997, and immediately began full time practice in Family Medicine at Salem Family Physicians, P.C.
Kurt was born in Portland and raised in West Salem, and has four children. Kurt is a 2 nd degree black belt and was a Tae Kwon Do instructor for 10 years. He traveled to Seoul Korea in 1988 as a member of a Tae Kwon Do demonstration team, and has also traveled to China and Tibet.
